Bloomberg TV will now be shown in the Washington, D.C., area as part of a distribution agreement struck with cable operator Comcast.
“The addition of the Bloomberg television service is a great complement to our current digital cable programming,” said Tony Hollinger, vice president and general manager for Comcast of the District, in a release.
“The growing availability of Bloomberg television in Washington D.C. reflects the District’s surging demand for high-quality, real-time business news,” said Sid Amira of Bloomberg television. “Backed by the 2,000-strong worldwide Bloomberg News organization, Bloomberg television programming is able to deliver the business and financial news that matters most to viewers in this area. We are confident that Comcast subscribers will find the Bloomberg television channel to be a powerful, profitable addition to their lives.”
Bloomberg television’s programming includes Morning Call, a look at the trading day with news briefings, breaking stories, and the opening bell live from the New York Stock Exchange with up to the minute markets coverage, live reports from the London, New York, and Tokyo stock exchanges, and in-depth interviews with financial experts, business leaders, and serious investors.
Other shows are Political Capital, a weekly, 30-minute program on politics, economics and public policy, hosted by Al Hunt; Bloomberg Muse is a weekly look at the arts; and Conversations with Judy Woodruff is a series that airs on the first Saturday of every month, featuring in-depth interviews with guests from the worlds of politics, business, government, sports and the arts.
