Bloomberg LP announced Wednesday that its Bloomberg Government service will become part of its Bloomberg BNA operation.
There will be no job cuts due to the combination.
Bloomberg Government, or BGOV as it is known, will become the flagship product of a new government unit within Bloomberg BNA. In addition to government-focused news and information products, Bloomberg BNA provides news and information about the legal, tax, and compliance markets.
The new unit will launch on July 1 and combine the data, tools and analysis of BGOV with Congress Tracker, The Daily Report for Executives, Money & Politics Report, and The Federal Contracts Report into one unit.
“We’re doubling down on our investment in Washington,” said Josh Eastright, head of Bloomberg Government, in a statement. “By joining forces, we’ll be able to more intelligently deploy our resources to expand our scope of coverage across the government and drive more product innovation.”
Employees of the new unit will be based at Bloomberg Government headquarters on K Street in Washington to foster more collaboration and faster product development.
