WSJ seeks media reporter

The Media & Marketing bureau of The Wall Street Journal in New York is looking for a reporter to cover print media and online publishing, industries in the midst of rapid change and experimentation with new business models.

The ideal candidate would be able to describe the transformation happening at companies such as Gannett, Tribune, The New York Times and News Corp, as they contend with declining print ad revenue and try to build digital revenue streams.

The beat also involves chronicling a new breed of online publishers like BuzzFeed and Vox Media, and their new approaches to content and advertising that are challenging longstanding industry traditions.

The reporter would have to comfortable chasing scoops on M&A and other big corporate stories while developing ambitious features that illuminate trends and interesting personalities across the industry.
