Reuters seeks senior correspondent in Russia

Reuters is looking for a dynamic correspondent to cover company news, banks and corporate finance in Russia.

We need an energetic journalist who will build contacts, break news and produce deeply reported enterprise stories that keep us ahead of the competition and set the agenda.With some foreign investors heading for the exit, others coming in to make a risky quick buck and recession just round the corner, this is an exciting time to be covering Russian companies and the foreign firms that are based here.

In coordination with the Chief Financial Correspondent and the Bureau Chief, the correspondent will help lead a small team covering companies and banks ranging from large, monolithic state companies to small start-ups trying to find a niche at a difficult time.He or she will also work closely with the relevant beat reporters from the Russian-language service, as well as the politics, macroeconomics, energy and commodity teams, to ensure we are first with company results and break exclusive news. There will also be opportunities to travel within Russia.

Skills & Qualifications:
– At least five years reporting experience
– A deep understanding and previous experience of company news coverage
– Knowledge, understanding and experience of corporate finance and banks.
– Excellent news judgment and writing skills
– Proven ability to generate innovative story ideas and turn them into ready-to-run stories
– Good organizational skills, ability to manage “twin track” of breaking news and writing insightful stories
– Good Russian
– Ability to work as a team player and turn hand to other news
– Willingness to travel outside Moscow
