Bloomberg Media is looking for a consumer health reporter to join the editorial team at its flagship online publication.

Reporters at Bloomberg Digital will fill a uniquely modern position that requires tenacity, speed, technical know-how, and a passion for breaking news and telling bold, important stories with authority and accuracy.

Reporters are responsible for covering the consumer health beat on a day-to-day basis (quick turnaround stories, follow-ups, scoops, and exclusives) and pursue enterprising stories with longer lead times.

Deep knowledge of health topics, from fitness to medicine to neuroscience, is a must, as is impeccable sourcing and an eye for important stories (and sharp angles). A high degree of fluency with digital newsrooms is vital, as reporters must work natively in a digital environment and will be expected to collaborate with video, photo, graphics, and data visualization teams on a regular basis.

Qualifications:
– Pitch, report, and execute stories that are enterprising, bold,
creative, and that no other outlet will have (but all of them will want).
– Break news and get scoops.
-Offer sharp context and analysis when news events call for it.
– Cultivate and maintain encyclopedic knowledge, unparalleled sourcing, and deep authority on a range of consumer health topics.
– Collaborate with various Bloomberg Digital teams, including video, data visualization, and design, to tell stories in bold and inventive ways.
