sabew_logoThe Society of American Business Editors and Writers, which is holding its annual meeting in Washington, announced Friday that its board is not endorsing candidates running for spots on its board.

On May 10, SABEW sent an email to its members eligible to vote for the board that it was recommending that they vote for three incumbents and two new candidates for the six seats available on the board. It sent a followup email to voting members on Monday, May 16, with the same recommendation.

But on Friday, SABEW sent another email stating that was in error. “In a motion approved by the full board, it was agreed that anyone who has already voted is given an opportunity to change their vote by confidentially contacting sabew@sabew.org,” said the organization.

Running for the board are incumbents are James Madore of Newsday, Xana Antunes of Quartz and Sapna Maheshwari of BuzzFeed, as well as Amy Gleason of S&P Global Market Intelligence, Caleb Silver of Investopedia, Roseanne Gerin of Radio Free Asia, Neil Roland of MLex News and Patrick Sanders of U.S. News & World Report.

Voting will end at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. Results of the election will be announced at the Best in Business dinner and ceremony at SABEW’s annual conference in Washington.
