Entrepreneur JanFeb2017Entrepreneur launched a redesign with its latest issue, and the business magazine is also cutting two print issues a year from its schedule.

The magazine combined its January and February issues and will also be combining the July and August issues, editor Jason Feifer told Talking Biz News in an email.

“That’s become pretty standard in the industry, as I’m sure you know, and is common in our competitive set,” said Feifer. “Fast Company and Inc., for example, both combine Dec/Jan and July/Aug.”

Feifer said there are no plans to make any further changes to Entrepreneur’s publishing schedule.

“It’s no secret that the economics of media are rapidly changing, and, like any entrepreneurs, we have to constantly evaluate the best ways to serve our audience while also running a healthy business,” said Feifer. “This new schedule gives us an opportunity to shift our resources, pouring even more into each issue, and making sure that our readers are still getting the same value (and more) than they got with our old publishing schedule.”

The latest issue also unveiled redesign for the magazine.

“It has an expanded feature well, where, every month, we’ll be running longer stories with more ambitious reporting,” said Feifer. “The front-of-book is also completely reworked, and will feature a wider, richer coverage of entrepreneurship in all forms.”

Feifer added that Entrepreneur has “big things” planned for its digital operation this year.

“There’s lots more yet to be announced,” he said. “Yes, the magazine purist in me is sad to see two issues a year disappear, but we’re more than making up for it.”
