Wall Street Journal business editor Jamie Heller sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:

Please join me in welcoming Anupreeta Das to the corporate team as deputy coverage chief. Preeta is one of our finest, most creative, most versatile reporters and a trusted mentor to many in our newsroom. She joined the Journal in 2010 to cover deals, and proceeded to break news of many of the biggest mergers in the post-financial-crisis era. She went on to cover Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway and also revitalized our coverage of the global rich. Most recently, she has been on M&I’s enterprise team, where she has co-authored a formidable series on family offices and another on the joys of chickens.

Before joining the Journal, Preeta covered tech, media and telecom deals for Reuters. She holds graduate degrees from Boston University and the London School of Economics, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Delhi. Originally from India, Preeta has lived and worked in more than eight cities. She currently lives with her husband in Manhattan.

I’m thrilled that Preeta will be working closely with me, Mark Long, Chip Cummins, Neil Western and the rest of our global team to fulfill our mission of delivering the world’s most vital business coverage.
