Biz journal launches iPad, iPhone app

The Denver Business Journal, an American City Business Journals newspaper, has launched an application for iPads and iPhones.

A story on its website states, “If you’re already a subscriber, the app makes a tablet-scaled replica of the newspaper available to you for free on your Apple mobile device. The app will take you through the registration process to access the tablet edition.

“If you’re not a subscriber, you can read the Newsstand edition for $4.99 a week — or subscribe for $94.99 a year.

“To introduce the app and the convenience of reading the DBJ print edition on your Apple mobile device, the DBJ is offering a four-week free trial. (Note that at the end of the four-week trial period, you’ll be charged the one-year subscription fee if you don’t cancel first.)

“The app lets you access the print Denver Business Journal and all its news and information in an easy-to-read format anywhere in the world. All DBJ special sections are included.”

Read more here. The paper appears to the first business journal with an iPhone or iPad app. I searched the iTunes store and could not find another.
