WBEZ has tapped Charmaine Runes as a data/visuals reporter. She joins from South Side Weekly where she was director of factchecking.
She was also a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Chicago and has also worked as a design and digital services fellow transforming the City of Chicago’s data and digital services.
She has also worked as a research assistant and then as a research analyst at The Urban Institute.
Additionally, she has also interned at Alliance Housing Inc. and International Institute of Minnesota.
Runes is a B.A. from Macalester College and a M.S. from University of Chicago.
