Washington Post taps Rogers as lifestyle editor

Jenny Rogers

The following excerpt announcement was sent out by The Washington Post executive features editor Liz Seymour, features deputy editor Mitch Rubin and features deputy editor David Malitz:

We are thrilled to announce that Jenny Rogers will be joining Features as Lifestyle editor.

Jenny will oversee a talented and growing Lifestyle team that includes four editors (one in charge of each of its coverage areas — Wellness, Home, Parenting and KidsPost), three reporters, an editorial aide and a vast network of freelance contributors. As The Post expands its service journalism, which has reached more readers than ever over the past year, she will play a key role in overseeing its evolution.

Jenny has been an editor at The Post for more than six years, most recently with the Talent Network. She also edited stories across the newsroom.

Jenny spent the first five years of her Post career as an editor in Outlook, where she commissioned and edited pieces on and off the news on a wide array of topics. Before coming to The Post, she was assistant managing editor at Washington City Paper, a gossip columnist at the Washington Examiner and a local reporter at TBD.com.

Jenny holds a master’s in journalism from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s in studio art from Rhodes College.

She starts Sept. 7. Please join us in congratulating Jenny on her new role.
