The Washington Post has hired Katy Burnell Evans as an assignment editor on the local government and politics team overseeing coverage in the District, Maryland and Virginia.
Evans joins from the Richmond Times-Dispatch, where she had been for over 6 years, recently serving as a news editor and creative team leader. She previously held the posts of enterprise reporter and local government editor.
She has also reported for The Daily Progress in Charlottesville, Virginia and Petersburg Progress-Index in Petersburg, Virginia.
Evans is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
