Janel Davis has joined The Washington Post as deputy education editor. Recently, she was senior editor for enterprise at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where she oversaw coverage of education, religion, the environment and immigration.
Before that, she served as senior editor for local digital news and was also a reporter and served as assistant editor for the AJC’s local digital news team. She has also reported for The Gazette in Montgomery County and was a staff writer at The Memphis Flyer.
Davis has a degree in mass communications from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge.
