Vox senior identities editor Machado departs

As Vox has decided to eliminate the identities section, senior identities editor Jessica Machado will be leaving.

Prior to joining Vox, Machado was an identities editor at The Daily Dot. She has also freelanced for The Washington Post, Elle, Vice, BuzzFeed, The Cut, The Awl, US Weekly, Time Out New York and The Oregonian, among others. She was also an associate editor at Rolling Stone Magazine.

Machado has a B.A. in journalism and sociology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
