Vox promotes Grady and Illing to senior correspondents, Romano to staff writer

Vox has tapped Constance Grady and Sean Illing as senior correspondents and Aja Romano as staff writer.

Grady joined Vox as a fellow in 2016, coming on board as a full-time staffer in 2017. She previously managed Vox book review coverage and served as an editorial assistant at NYU Press. A former intern at Bloomsbury USA in New York, Grady has a B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Sean Illing

Illing came to Vox in 2016. He has served as a senior writer and last summer took over as a regular host of the “Vox Conversations” podcast. He has also taught at Loyola University New Orleans and Louisiana State University. Illing has a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University.

Romano will continue to build coverage of cultural debates. Previously serving as a culture reporter, they covered internet culture, communities and criticism and commentary on TV and other media. They have also worked at the BBC and The Daily Dot. Romano graduated from Indiana University Bloomington. (No photo of Romano was available.)
