The USA Today Network has appointed Jennifer Orsi as executive editor of the Sarasota Herald-Tribune and Florida regional editor, overseeing 18 Gannett-owned daily newspapers in the state.
Currently, Orsi is the director of marketing content and communications at Carillon Tower Advisers, an asset management company.
Her new role begins Jul. 26.
Orsi is a veteran Tampa Bay Times journalist, having landed a reporting job at the newspaper right out of college. She also held various editorial roles, including running a suburban bureau and the Tampa bureau, serving as night city editor, and as a deputy managing editor for local and business news.
She was also the first woman to hold the post of managing editor at the Times.
“I just had the chance to do good work with good people at a great newspaper and I made the most of it,” she said.
