The Thomson Reuters Foundation has named Yasir Khan as editor-in-chief.
In his new role, Khan will lead a team of reporters and will be overseeing the digital transformation of the foundation’s news offering.
His new role begins Jul. 20.
Currently, Khan is editor-in-chief of Digital at Euronews.
Khan has over 20 years of experience in journalism and is also the co-founder/executive producer of Storystan, a platform advising publishers on digital content strategy and digital transformation.
He has also worked at Al Jazeera for more than 7 years and has taught at Northwestern University in Qatar, Jordan Media Institute and American University in Cairo.
He has also served as consultant, documentary production at both Doha Film Institute and The Royal Film Commission – Jordan.
He has also worked at CBC, CNN, CHUM Television and National Geographic.
Khan is a graduate of University of Toronto.
