The Independent appoints Garcia D.C. correspondent

Eric Garcia

Eric Garcia has been named D.C. correspondent at The Independent.

Garcia was also an assistant editor at The Washington Post and an associate editor at The Hill. He was also a staff writer at Roll Call and has served as a staff correspondent at National Journal.

He was also a transparency reporter at MarketWatch and has also written for The Daily Tar Heel.

He has also interned for The American Prospect.

Garcia has also freelanced with his work appearing in Medium, MSN, The Atlantic, Boston Herald, News & Observer, The Sun News and more.

Garcia holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the UNC School of Media and Journalism.
