The Guardian has named Vincent Ni as China affairs correspondent.
He joins from BBC News where he worked for more than 7 years. He joined as a multimedia reporter and then served as senior journalist/duty editor. Recently, he held the post of convenor/co-founder, BBC Asia Brief.
He is also the co-founder of Asia Matters Podcast, an independent podcast that goes beyond the headlines with global experts to explain what is happening in Asia.
Ni was also a Yale World fellow and an international correspondent at Caixin Global where he was a runner-up at London’s Foreign Press Association annual awards in 2011.
Ni is a graduate of the University of Oxford.
