Joanna Nikas has joined The Cut as deputy style editor overseeing the site’s fashion vertical, including all fashion and beauty coverage.
Nikas joins from The New York Times, where she has been for 10 years, most recently as a senior staff editor. She also wrote and edited The Times’ fashion Instagram account and was managing editor of the “Surfacing” section, The New York Times’ inaugural integrated/multi-platform visual journalism enterprise dedicated to exploring cultures globally.
During her time there, she also introduced new story forms of journalism.
She was also an intern at PBS.
Nikas has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and politics from New York University and a master’s degree from Columbia University, New York.
