Katherine Smith will be joining News Nation as a digital producer. She comes from Shaw Media in Illinois, where she was a reporter.
Previously, she has reported for the Daily Herald Media Group. She also served as photo editor, news editor and then as editor-in-chief of The Daily Eastern News, the student newspaper of Eastern Illinois University.
She was also a feature writer and photographer at Mattoon Life Magazine in Charleston and has interned at Effingham Daily News in IL.
Smith earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Eastern Illinois University.
