Slate editor Keating to join new D.C. publication as global security reporter

Joshua Keating is joining the new D.C. publication from Laura McGann and Mark Bauman as global security reporter, reports Politico.

McGann is a former politics editor of Vox.com and Politico, and Bauman was previously with the Smithsonian, National Geographic, and ABC News.

Keating, a senior editor at Slate, focuses on international news, U.S. foreign policy, and the intersection of politics and social science. Previously, he has written and edited for six years at Foreign Policy.

His work has also been published by The Washington Post, Politico, Smithsonian Magazine, and Roads & Kingdoms. He has also been featured in CNN, MSNBC, NPR, the BBC, and Al-Jazeera.

Keating is a graduate of Oberlin College.
