Politico taps Yurk as legislative reporter

Valerie Yurk

Valerie Yurk has joined the Politico Pro legislative compass team covering a host of bills and congressional happenings. She will also be reporting on energy and environment bills.

Previously, Yurk was a reporting fellow at E&E News. Before that, she was an environment desk intern at The Guardian, where she reported on parks legislation, environmental policy and breaking science stories. She has also written for GWU’s Planet Forward.

She was also an editorial intern at Transitions Online, a nonprofit news source based in Prague, Czech Republic.

Yurk graduated from the George Washington University with a degree in journalism and mass communication.
