Philly Inquirer appoints Hirschhorn assistant managing editor

Dan Hirschhorn, senior politics editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer has been promoted to the post of assistant managing editor on the digital desk, where he will lead coverage of the newsletter program and grow digital storytelling initiatives.

He will also manage digital editors, collaborate with the marketing and product divisions, and provide guidance to the new data-driven storytelling team. He will also be a member of the digital cabinet.

Prior to joining the Inquirer, Hirschhorn was at Barron’s, where he worked as managing editor for news and editorial director for digital. He was also director of news at Time Magazine. He has also freelanced for the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and New York Daily News.

Hirschhorn has also reported for The Daily and Politico.

Hirschhorn graduated from Brandeis University.
