The New York Times has named Katie Thomas an enterprise reporter, a role in which she will be focusing on the intersection of money and health care.
Previously, Thomas has covered the pharma beat for The Times for the past 9 years. She joined The Times in 2008 on the sports desk, writing news and enterprise stories.
Since 2011, Thomas has covered pharma, first on the business desk and then on health and science.
In her new role, Thomas will be stepping away from the breaking news cycle and working in collaboration with the business desk.
Prior to joining The Times, Thomas was with Newsday for 9 years.
Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from New York University.
