The New York Times has promoted Vivian Toy to the post of director of career mobility, helping newsroom employees navigate their careers at the Times.
Toy has been at The Times for 26 years, previously serving as a reporter on the metro desk. She has also served as deputy editor, real estate news and then as editor, real estate news. She also turned the real estate feature, “The Hunt” into an interactive game for readers, which is now headed to television.
She has also reported for The Detroit News and The Milwaukee Journal.
Toy is a Harvard University graduate.
