Elisa Gutierrez and Anna Marks

Kathleen Kingsbury, editorial page editor, New York Times Opinion, sent out the following announcement:

I’m excited to announce some new faces in Opinion.

joins the Opinion Audio team as a producer on “The Argument” on Monday, Oct. 26. She comes to us from Crooked Media, where she was a producer and founding member of the political podcast company. Elisa oversaw the production of “Lovett or Leave It,” “Six Feet Apart With Alex Wagner,” and a handful of other shows during her time at the company. She traveled across the country as the showrunner of “Pod Save America Live,” producing segments with politicians and activists shaping and changing their communities. She produced conversations with nine 2020 Democratic presidential candidates for “Lovett or Leave It” and a segment in which Elizabeth Warren surprised listeners on Zoom as they played a game on the topic of corruption and oversight over the first coronavirus stimulus package. Prior to her time at Crooked Media, Elisa produced short-form videos as a fellow at Univision in Miami. She is a graduate of Columbia University, and though she lives in Los Angeles her heart is always with her family in Chicago and Xalapa, Mexico.

Anna Marks is our new columnist assistant supporting Frank and Gail. She joins us from The Atlantic. She has also worked at the New York Public Library, and across the publishing industry. In college, she studied geography and literature at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. Outside of work, you’ll probably find her extolling the virtues of “Survivor” to anyone who will listen, or reading quietly around anyone who will not. Anna starts Monday, Oct. 26.

Congratulations!
