Kevin Whitmer, lead editor at NJ Advance Media, which includes NJ.com, lehighvalleylive.com and The Star-Ledger is stepping down from his role after 36 years. He is also senior VP for content, expansion and development.
Before that, he served as VP of content.
He says, “As for me, it is time to step away, recharge, do some work on myself and think about how I want the next few years of my life to look. That might be consulting, teaching, volunteering or maybe some wonderful mix of all three.”
Whitmer has also held the post of editor-in-chief of The Star-Ledger for 5 years, and has previously worked there as a sports editor, assistant managing editor for the sports and business desks and managing editor – digital content specialist.
He also worked at The New York Daily News for close to 4 years and was an assistant sports editor at The Courier-News.
