Newsquest has promoted Charlotte Ikonen to the post of head of digital content and trusted local news. Previously, she was regional audience and content editor, and before that she served as a news editor.
She has also freelanced for the Dailly Star and the Evening Standard.
Ikonen has also previously worked at Newsquest from 2013 to 2016 as a journalist, chief reporter and then as a news editor.
Ikonen graduated from Cardiff University and is a NCTJ-certified journalist.
