New Yorker adds three as contributing writers

The New Yorker has named Kyle Chayka, Matthew Hutson and Luke Mogelson as contributing writers.

Chayka will be covering tech and culture on the Internet. His work has also appeared in Medium, The Guardian, The New York Times, Time Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, The Daily Beast, Bloomberg and more.

He also co-founded the freelance journalist collective and media company Study Hall.

Chayka is working on his second book, “Filterworld,” which explores the impact of algorithmic technology on culture.

Hutson will be covering science and tech.

He is also a freelance science writer, his work appearing in The Atlantic, The Economist, The New York Times Magazine, Science, Nature, Wired, Newsweek, Businessweek, New Scientist, Slate, The Wall Street Journal and more.

He was also news editor at Psychology Today and was a senior science writer at Sally Ride Science.

Mogelson was previously a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine, between 2011 and 2014. Since then, he has reported for The New Yorker.
