The Daily Mirror has tapped Michael Smith as Whitehall correspondent.
He starts his new role next month.
Previously, he held the post of politics reporter. He has also written and researched features and investigations for online politics news website Political Scrapbook.
Smith has also worked at Forge Media, Sky News and the BBC.
He was also a news reporter at Viking FM.
Smith is a B.A. in journalism from the University of Sheffield.
