New role for McClatchy’s Murphy

Brian Murphy

Brian Murphy, Washington D.C. correspondent for The News & Observer and The Charlotte Observer, McClatchy, will be leaving his post to become editor of N.C. Insider News Updates, also part of McClatchy.

Prior to joining McClatchy, Murphy was digital editor at The Free Lance-Star. He was also a sports columnist at Idaho Statesman and a sports writer at The Telegraph. He was also a sports editor and staff writer at The Daily Tar Heel.

Murphy has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
