MSNBC hires three new staff members

MSNBC has hired Jarvis DeBerry as opinion editor, Hayley Miller as founding blog editor and Ja’han Jones as show blogger.

Recently, DeBerry was editor-in-chief of the Louisiana Illuminator. He was also a columnist and served on the editorial board for cleveland.com. His work has also appeared in The Plain Dealer. He was also with The Times-Picayune for over 22 years.

He has also reported for Tammany Parish bureau and interned at St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

DeBerry graduated from Washington University, St. Louis.

Miller joins from HuffPost, where she had been for over 7 years, recently serving as a senior reporter, covering breaking news on the general assignment desk. She has also interned at GlobalPost and The Block Island Times.

Miller has a B.A. in journalism from Northeastern University.

Jones also joins from HuffPost, where he was a reporter. He has also worked at NBCUniversal and has reported for The Arizona Informant Newspaper, The Arizona Republic, and the Phoenix Business Journal. he has also interned at CBS Corporation.

Jones has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication from Arizona State University.
