BBC News has tapped Rebecca Morelle as a science editor.
Her new role will begin later this year.
Currently, she is a global science correspondent at the broadcaster. Morelle has been with the BBC for over 13 years, previously working as a science, technology and health reporter and then as a science video journalist.
She was also a press officer at Science Media Center for 4 years.
Morelle is a University of Oxford graduate.
