The Keene Sentinel in New Hampshire has appointed Jack Rooney as deputy local news editor. Previously, he was a reporter covering education for the Sentinel.
Rooney joined the Sentinel from the Wooster Daily Record in Ohio, where he was a staff writer, reporting on breaking news and writing enterprise stories. He has also interned at Tampa Bay Times, Concord Monitor and Better Government Association.
He has also freelanced for Law Bulletin Publishing Company in Chicago, Illinois.
Rooney graduated from the University of Notre Dame, where he also worked at the student paper.
