Houston Chronicle names Reeve editor-in-chief

The Houston Chronicle has appointed Maria Reeve as its editor-in-chief. Since joining the paper in 2019, Reeve has served as its managing editor, content.

In her new role, she succeeds Steve Riley, who will be retiring after a 41-year career in journalism.

Previously, Reeve was at the Star Tribune for over 8 years, where she served as features team leader, East metro team leader, deputy metro editor, and assistant managing editor, news.

Reeve has also worked at the St. Paul Pioneer Press for 19 years and has reported for the Bradenton Herald.

Reeve has a B.A. in English from Davidson College and a M.A. in journalism from the University of Maryland.
