Hopkins departs Columbus Dispatch for Austin Statesman

Earl Hopkins

Earl Hopkins will be joining the Austin Statesman as a culture reporter, focusing on food, drink, arts, recreation and entertainment in central Texas for its entertainment site Austin 360.

He comes from The Columbus Dispatch, where he recently served as an arts and culture reporter, and before that, as a general assignment reporter. He has also freelanced for Columbus Monthly/Alive/CEO, subsidiary publications under The Columbus Dispatch.

Hopkins was also an education and family issues reporter at Evansville Courier & Press in Evansville, Indiana.

Hopkins has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University.
