Hiatt rejoins Washington Post as deputy editor of “By The Way”

The following excerpt announcement was sent out by The Washington Post director of emerging news products Chris Meighan and By The Way editor Amanda Finnegan:

We’re excited to announce Gabe Hiatt will be returning to The Post as deputy editor of By The Way.

For the past three years, Gabe was the editor of Eater DC, where he led coverage of Washington’s restaurant scene: assignment editing and reporting, running social accounts, building guides and curating newsletters.

Before joining Eater, Gabe spent five years at The Post, first as a reporter and editorial aide in Sports, and then as the sports editor of Express.

Gabe grew up in Houston and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Please join us in congratulating Gabe. His first day will be Nov. 1.
