Award-winning journalist, essayist and author Jean Guerrero will be joining the Los Angeles Times as an opinion columnist.
She starts Jul. 12.
Guerrero’s writing has also been published in Politico, Vanity Fair, Wired, the Nation, the New York Times, The Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the Seattle Times, NPR, the PBS NewsHour, and Best American Essays 2019.
She has also won an Emmy, numerous first-place San Diego Press Club awards and Society for Professional Journalists (San Diego chapter) awards, including “Journalist of the Year” in 2019 and “Best Body of Work” in 2018.
She was also was named “Latina Journalist On The Rise” by the California Chicano News Media Association, and recognized as one of the top 15 most influential Latina journalists of the region.
Guerrero is a B.A. in journalism from the University of Southern California and holds a master’s degree from Goucher College.
