Marissa Evans will be joining The Los Angeles Times as a health reporter focusing on Southern California’s communities of color. Previously, she was a social issues reporter at The Star Tribune.
Before that, Evans was a health and human services reporter at the Texas Tribune and has worked as a health policy reporter at CQ Roll Call. She was also a health policy web reporting fellow at Kaiser Health News.
She has also worked as a metro reporting intern at The Seattle Times and was a social media and web writing intern at Marquette University. She has also a metro desk intern at The Washington Post and has served as a news editor at The Marquette Tribune.
Evans was a Ray Kenney business desk intern at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and has served as a multimedia intern at the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service. She was also a business desk intern at Star Tribune and a student reporter at The New York Times Student Journalism Institute.
She has also worked as a metro intern at The San Diego Union-Tribune.
Evans holds a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marquette University.
