Maddy (Lauria) Goss has joined the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays as the nonprofit’s communications specialist.
Previously, Goss was an environmental reporter at The News Journal Media Group. She also covered news, crime and trends in southern Delaware for the Journal. Goss has also worked as a freelance correspondent at Lancaster Farming.
She has also worked as a reporter at Cape Gazette covering police, government, human interest and business, and state-wide environmental issues and has also served as a freelance writer at Delaware Beach Life.
Goss was also with GateHouse Media for more than a year working as a reporter at the Milford Beacon. There, she covered police, government and education reporting, social media posts, website postings, video and photography assignments.
She has also worked as a contributing reporter at Star-Gazette and as a freelance writer and journalist and blogger at Demand Studios and The ALT Project, respectively.
Additionally, she has also worked as an editorial assistant, intern at Creative Nonfiction and was a news editor and writer at The Duquesne Duke, Duquesne University student-run weekly newspaper.
Goss says:
“I’m lucky to have spent so many years working as a local journalist in my home state, but I couldn’t be more thrilled to start a new chapter here at the Center by focusing on improving water quality in one of the fastest growing regions of the state.
“So many people are moving here because of the beauty of the Inland Bays, and I want to help them understand how precious these resources are and why it’s so vitally important to protect them for generations to come.”
Goss is a B.A. in English and journalism from Duquesne University.
