Dallas Morning News appoints Hardy executive editor

The Dallas Morning News has tapped veteran journalist Katrice Hardy as executive editor.

In her new role, she succeeds Mike Wilson.

Recently, she was editor of The Indianapolis Star, the Gannett-owned daily. Her duties also included serving as Midwest editor of the USA Today Network, where she oversaw two dozen other Gannett-owned newsrooms.

Previously, she has also served as managing editor of Pilot Media. She was also tablet enterprise editor and then senior digital editor at The Virginian-Pilot. She was also metro/city editor at Pilot Media.

Hardy graduated from Louisiana State University.
