Cara Buckley is joining the New York Times climate desk from the culture desk, where she wrote about diversity.
Her new role begins Sept. 20.
Buckley has been with the Times for over 15 years, having joined in 2006 as a metro reporter. Prior to joining the Times, she was a staff writer at The Miami Herald for over 5 years. Before that, she was a reporter at Reuters.
During her time at the Times, she was part of a team that won a Pulitzer Prize in 2018.
Buckley graduated from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs.
