BBC has named Paul Danahar executive news editor for the network’s coverage of world affairs. He will also be running the ‘World Story team’, the new home for the BBC’s journalists, in the UK and abroad.
Recently, Danahar was Washington bureau chief.
Danahar has been with the network for over 19 years, having held various posts, including South Asia bureau chief, East Asia bureau chief, Middle East bureau editor, and head of news, BBC America.
He is also the author of The New Middle East: The World After the Arab Spring.
Danahar graduated from the University of Hull.
