The Yakima Herald-Republic wants to hear from its readers about some proposed changes to its stock listings, and it is also going to add the new AP “Money & Markets” package to its business section.
Editor Sarah Jenkins wrote, “We’re asking for your input — both in the forms of what information you use now and what information would be valuable to you, both in print and online.
“At the core of a new ‘Money & Markets’ package we’re developing now would be Stocks of Local Interest. There will be in all likelihood be fewer stocks than we now list for the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ, but they would be stocks of more interest to readers in the Yakima Valley — the stocks you tell us you want included.
“What we hope to provide in addition to a more select listing of stocks are daily overviews of what stock market activity means, highlights of interesting stocks and other economic indicators and a wider array of ‘snapshots’ of the economy as a whole.”
