Yahoo Finance starts video series on the business of sport

Yahoo Finance has launched a new, recurring video segment called Yahoo Finance Sportsbook. [contextly_sidebar id=”YZogGjw70lDHneiMeuSXU2wWD2XufP3W”]

At least once a week, reporter Daniel Roberts will examine the biggest business stories in sports, from athlete endorsement deals to brand scandals to product launches, as well as the increasing role of tech in sports, from streaming video to in-stadium apps to sports betting companies.

Roberts will bring in expert guests including sports marketing experts, player agents, and athletes to discuss the news of the moment.

“I think we’ve seen sports business, as a topic, become super exciting to lots of readers in the past few years, as contracts have ballooned and new technology has invaded the industry,” said Roberts.

Roberts joined Yahoo Finance in January after spending more than five years at Time Inc., where he covered sports business and technology for Fortune and Sports Illustrated.

The first installment of Yahoo Finance Sportsbook looks at the battle brewing between three of the top sports apparel brands — Adidas, Under Armour, and Nike — in the country at this year’s Masters.
