Yahoo Finance hires Hahm from “Squawk Box”

Melody Hahm has been hired by Yahoo Finance as a writer/reporter

Hahm previously worked for CNBC’s flagship show “Squawk Box,” where she was a segment producer and social media editor. She also booked and produced all logistics for guests, with a focus on technology and entrepreneurship, pitched and wrote headline stories during the live show.

At Yahoo Finance, she will break and write business stories, participate in video reporting, and spearhead social media initiatives.

Hahm graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in Spanish literature and international relations in 2013.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
