Yahoo Finance gets standalone app on Apple TV devices

Yahoo Finance is getting a standalone app on Apple TV devices, reports Alex Weprin of Digital News Daily.

Weprin reports, “The app comes as Yahoo Finance prepares to significantly increase the amount of live market coverage it produces. In January 2019, Yahoo Finance will produce eight hours of live coverage each business day. That coverage will now be available on the Apple TV app, as will other original series and personal finance coverage.

“Video will automatically start playing when users open the app, though they can search for on-demand content as well.

“Yahoo Finance recently announced a distribution deal with Roku Channel to distribute its live content, so the deal with Apple now gives the site a presence on two of the largest OTT platforms.”
