John Wordock, executive producer of podcasts at The Wall Street Journal, has been hired by Westwood One to be executive editor of podcasts.
Omar Sanchez of The Wrap writes, “Wordock, who before the Wall Street Journal helmed the radio arm of MarketWatch.com from 2007 to 2013, will be responsible for content strategy and development at the network starting Feb. 15.
“The former Wall Street Journal executive editor, podcasts launched the future tech podcast ‘The Future of Everything’ for the WSJ podcast network in 2018. The podcast was nominated at the 2019 iHeart Radio Awards for best science & tech podcast.
“‘I’m honored to be joining a company with such a robust history and strong commitment to audio. I look forward to working closely with Suzanne Grimes and the team as we continue to fuel the meteoric growth of Westwood One Podcast Network,’ Wordock said in a statement.”
