WSJ’s Favole joins communications firm

Jared Favole, who has covered the White House and economic policy stories for The Wall Street Journal for the past four years, has left the newspaper to join Hamilton Place Strategies as a senior director.

Favole also initiated and managed a web-tracking program for The Wall Street Journal’s Washington bureau that helped them break news about major court decisions.

“We’re incredibly excited that Jared is joining our firm,” said Tony Fratto, HPS founding partner, in a statement. “We’re looking for smart people who add to our skill and experience, and Jared fits that bill.  But most importantly, Jared fits with our culture. He understands collaboration, relying on data and evidence, and working with genuine passion. We can’t wait to get started.”

Prior to writing about the Obama presidency, Favole distilled complex Food and Drug Administration decisions for Dow Jones Newswires and Wall Street Journal readers, and mined thousands of Securities and Exchange Commission filings for news. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in journalism and has a Master of Arts from St. John’s College in Annapolis, where he lives with his wife Johanna.
